RESNET is a resilient communications network available to Swiss citizens and organizations in the event of a crisis

Managed by the Federal Office for Civil Protection (FOCP), RESNET is a communications network designed to secure essential services for the population in Switzerland and Swiss citizens living abroad. Other that in times of crisis, its use is limited to RESINT Competence Centre volunteers.

RESNET enables continued secure access to critical services

Activated by the army in the event of a state-sponsored cyber-attack, major crisis, or disaster interrupting communications, in accordance with Article 58.7 of the Constitution, RESNET enables the continued use of essential services, including:

  • Administrative services: Managing property, permits and licenses, tax payments, birth/death registration, etc.
  • Financial services: Facilitating payments and banking transactions, managing and securing financial assets, accessing loans and credit services
  • Logistical services: Addressing logistics isuses and supply chain disruptions responsible for shortages of natural resources, food, or raw materials, facilitating volunteer involvement]
  • Electronic voting and civic engagement

RESHUB is your personal access point to RESNET

Part of the RESINT Digital Volunteer Package, RESHUB enables communication via the RESNET sovereign satellite constellation. Within Switzerland, it connects to Polycom and SEDS services. Quantum-encrypted shielding guarantees confidentiality at all times. Disconnected, RESHUB contains a local cache of essential information and services provided by the Swiss Federal Digital Archives.
